i have genuinely never heard any1 & i mean not a single solitary soul ever compare dijon 2 chance the rapper.. i don’t even really know how 2 respond 2 this but

have u heard black messiah @SlapFiend ?

dijon wears his influences on his sleeve but at the same time i don’t find his music 2 be derivative at all, he took the neo soul sound & added his own lil twist on it

i’ve seen him compared 2 dangelo, frank, yves tumor, prince but never chance the rapper lol

& this isn’t a knock on chance, i love chance the rapper but i just don’t see it

im not a big chance guy. I’ve pretty much heard his albums about one time each.

I can see the frank sound in it when he does the slow songs with no drums and he’s singing. And nah I’ve actually never heard black messiah. I’ve only heard voodoo. I can see a Prince influence too now that u mention it.

But idk. I think the times I heard chance was the faster songs with the upbeat vibes. And just the fact he has a strange voice to me. But It’s not a direct comparison. Cuz chance can’t even sing like this. In my head I imagine this is the kind of music that guy wishes he could make tho, I’ve never liked chance

Actually I do. This was prob my fave chance song. Also enjoyed problem with Wayne and chainz

i’ve been seeing a lot of people on here talk bad about acid rap.. i don’t really understand it but i have 2 remind myself not every1 is gonna love everything i do

i just remember how much every1 loved it when it dropped & now people act like it’s a bad project & i just don’t understand what changed everything, the big day was pretty bad but it wasn’t so bad that it tainted his other music lol
