not as confusing thoughminor spoilers:
i find it's portrayal of domestic abuse to be rather powerful although i know some folks think it's misses the markIt’s I think my favorite of his films.
it captures the horrors lurking beneath the surface of a seemingly idyllic suburbia - the American dream (at the time) wonderfully and it has that dreamy quality to it that makes you question whether any of this is even actually happening
I think it struck a nice balance/ tone that some of his later work I’ve seen hasn’t but not everyone rates the movie like that

WESLEYS THEORYHe was a good producer he just ran his West Coast sound into the ground back in 2014. People will disagree because of nostalgia, but it’s true. Thankfully, he realized it and course corrected. Now I think he’s great.
