I know Brian Eno worked on Outside but idk it didn’t click for me at all

yeah I think one of the reasons why Paul's attempts at that throwback sound like When Im 64 is because they were surrounded with more groundbreaking stuff

(the excellent melodicism is the main reason tho ofc)

the idea of anyone just throwing on that Bowie s/t and unironically jamming to it is just hilarious

Oh I don’t hate it either but to rate it highly is insane to me

it doesn’t deliver what the typical Bowie fan probably enjoys about his music specifically, so i understand why its ranked so poorly

but in a vacuum, its a solid album. it has loads of charm, and would probably be received better had bowie’s career continued moreso in that direction.
