Nah it’s definitely not an exclusive thing to one particular genre, but it definitely has affected the content of R&B more than just about any other genre. Hip-Hop always had an edge to it, so toxicity being apart of the equation isn’t really that much different from how it’s always been. R&B on the other hand definitely had a shift.

I’ve heard a couple good sequel albums in music but the majority of them aim to recapture a moment rather then be a continuation, and they fail because you can’t recapture a moment in time that’s already passed. You gotta make a new moment.

Young Americans is a really good album man. I’m grateful things picked up again after Pinups because I liked Diamond Dogs and really liked Young Americans.
Young Americans has ended up being OPs favorite Bowie album
