I think if you’re in a stable position to have kids and want them, then nothing should stop you. Kids can be a blessing and help you grow into the best version of yourself.

However, a lot of people having kids these days are unfit to be parents and don’t have the proper resources or the stable relationship with their BM/BD to raise the kids without dysfunction.

most people are expecting/hoping to retire at some point i think even if its not perfect ofc

and also maybe just think of it is an old population. like in Japan 30% of the people are over 65. less people that can work as effectively means less labor and hurts economy. old people also depend on others more and if the balance is off then there's not enough care that they need. more businesses would fail. I feel like life would be worse for the younger people too because more effort would have to go into the old people than it should (ie more money in their healthcare instead of education/infrastructure)
