Social media was a blessing and a curse. We became more connected to the world outside of our bubble but became disconnected to what’s immediately going on around us.

my fav times to disconnect from using my phone or any technology is when im waiting for a train/bus or when im on the transport, love that

Social media is legit the worst thing that has happened
Pre social media - (time moved accordingly and was connected to everything, seeing family after years felt like a mega reunion)
The rumblings of it (was fun cuz it was new and exciting)
And now (disconnected from everyone and everything thing even they everything is within my grasp and a few taps, reunions ain't the same)

It’s not just a Gen Z thing either. They are just going to be the worse recipients of it. But I’ve seen it in boomers, Gen X and millennials. My mom became a victim of the cynicism that developed from the fallout of the pandemic. I just don’t talk about politics with her period. It grosses me out.
