i mean yeah obviously not on the same level but i dont think i agree ditching them would have been the right idea. their vocal blend was amazing and i can't really envision brian working better as a solo artist instead of director of a band

i feel like the familial aspect was important for him tbh. and things like him writing parts specifically for Carl to sing just have a really special feeling
