save me’s review of sea change

i went in2 this very hopeful, my expectations were low considering i am not the biggest fan of beck, his music just simply never resonated with me. but here we are & i am reminded once again that some music simply isn’t 4 me. there’s nothing inherently terrible about this album, i’m sure perhaps it’s good in small doses but as an overall listening experience it’s extremely dull. at points it felt like songs were just blending in with each other & there was nothing 2 distinguish the current song with the previous 1. the lyrics are mind mumblingly simplistic. example being:
On a borrowed dime, in a different light
You might see what the other side looks like
In a random room behind an iron door
Kick an empty can across an empty floor
i respect the sentiment but there’s hardly any imagery throughout this album. there’s just not much 4 me 2 latch on2 emotionally outside of the music being filled with melancholy 2 the brim. give me hyperspace over this s*** any time of the day.
