yes, this album is fantastic. it is a bit derivative of their previous work, mainly wish & disintegration but in the best way possible. this is a stark improvement over wild mood swings, i can’t even believe how boring & uninspired that album was compared 2 this. the songwriting is excellent on this record, lots of themes of coming 2 grips with getting older & being unsure if u will ever resonate with ur fans ever again.. i’d like 2 think they did just that on here. i can perhaps understand why this wasn’t as well received on release but it deserves 2 be acknowledged 4 being a great album in their discography. they didn’t compromise anything artistically with every song being long as s*** & i respect that so very much. robert’s vocals sound as good as ever. i hope they are proud of this album, it’s genuinely a great listen & it’s so relatable on so many levels. can’t say enough great things about this. anyway, let’s continue on

out of this world - son of a b**** what a great opening song, the intro 2 this song is fantastic.. so melancholy yet so beautiful. so isolating yet so hopeful. i genuinely love everything about this song, this is top tier cure right here. 10/10

the last day of summer - the guitar work on this song is unbelievable. they truly set the mood on this song & roberts lackadaisical vocal delivery perfectly matches them perfectly. i love this a whole lot. 9/10

the loudest sound - the lyrics on this song are simple 4 the most part but the message he’s trying 2 convey gets across very nicely. i love the music on this song a lot, it’s haunting. 8/10

least fav song

there is no if… - on 2nd listen it’s not so bad, it’s not even a bad song necessarily but i don’t think it fits between the last day of summer & the loudest sound. it sounds like a stripped down version of another 1 of their songs, it is definitely missing something but i can’t quite say what that is. regardless, not a bad song just not my favorite.
