idk Pac flow was relentless and blew my mind at times, Pac had actual smart bars but in a direct food for thought way, and Pac was definitely influential as f*** to melody in rap

I think just because Pac was so direct in the way he wrote it was viewed as less clever but I looked at him as someone whose message was so important that he was always gonna be direct

Subject matter wise Pac was levels ahead of so many of his peers at his age, and songs like If I Die 2Nite, Troublesome, Death Around The Corner, Got My Mind Made Up etc could go up with the best of em fr

Pac is an underrated lyricist tbh

I see ur point of view
Which is why I see pac as more of an artist with all that encompasses him

    He was an actor
    Natural poet
And easily was ahead of his peers in subject matter for sure

Idk I see lyricism as like
Bars that go over heads type sht
    Crazy schemes and sht

This would be a good discussion thread to make tho.

Something different rather than more Twitter threads

I feel like direct lyricism holds as much weight because a lot of the time it holds more substance, I think thats what makes somebody like Lupe so good because he can be Pac or Biggie depending on his mood. But a lot of the time the more direct lyricist have more to say and I think Pac had a lot more to say than Biggie which is no knock at Biggie but he was more personal vs Pac gave you his personal life plus some genuinely radical world views and in complete depth too. I feel like what you’re saying is a big part of lyricism for me

I’m also watching that new documentary on him right now and they isolate a lot of his vocals and it makes me realize how well written songs I’m used to hearing are and how on topic Pac used to stay. Dude was truly a force
