WESLEYS THEORYI've warmed up to people putting DAMN AT #3 after seeing multiple people including SZA highly revere it. It was a blockbuster moment and as a Kendrick fan, a crazy moment because he was truly inescapable that year.
However, Mr. Morale really touched me deeply and also has some of my favorite Kendrick songs ever. United In Grief, Worldwide Steppers, Father Time, Rich Spirit, Count Me Out, Savior, Mother I Sober, Mirror etc.
While Mr. Morale has 2-3 songs I dont really like and skip, the stuff i do like i love so much and I think the overall quantity of amazing songs puts it just above DAMN for me.
Count Me Out is special, man.

e tI listened to DAMN again this week and honestly I was surprised at how good it was
It was the perfect followup to TPAB at the time and exactly what he needed to drop.
He dropped the masterpiece with TPAB and proved himself as a top tier artist. He needed to drop something that was gonna captivate the general public and the charts. DAMN was the perfect answer.
Also gotta give credit to MixedbyAli for the mixing. He did such an outstanding job on DAMN. Sounds so beautiful.
