e tYeah, I mean I see your point but it’s hard to accept in the streaming era. Because you’ll have an album where the first 12 songs are good to great and the next 6 are boring and it’s evident that those 6 are only there to get bigger streaming numbers.
I don't see a big difference in consistency between now and CD era. Like for hip hop for example you'll have 1hr15min albums where the weak songs are much worse than the highlights. Wasn't that already happening if you go back a few decades?
