mov doesn't like me because I unfollowed and blocked him
Why did you do that
Why did you do that
This is what happens when you realize you just have blind hatred for someone that checks out of basic rationality as a result.
nobody talkin about yeat in here pls
Is that dude still releasing music?
Feel like he was left out in 2022 but i never liked him tho
mov doesn't like me because I unfollowed and blocked him
I already hated you before that, you suck and you're annoying
So then with that being said, why do u think new albums arent meant to be listened to in one sitting rather than older albums?
I think its the typical attention span lacking audience more than the albums themselves
Cuz the main reason albums during that past era were intended to be listened together is because the technological limitations of the era and how the record companies could release music to maximize profit.
Yes albums did develop into a distinct and valuable medium for the art form because of people like the Beatles and jazz artists but that was just them using their possibility to release music in the best way possible
The lengths of classical music pieces is also a reason for the traditional 12inch LP side length limitations
I'm not sure how much attention spans factor into this but I think the other stuff is more important

Not sure what this was in response to but I took this personally
I don't believe it has a place in music discussion. Or at least not the way people commonly use it. People just use it to mean a song they don't like. And because they don't like it they claim it must be unimportant to the album in the intention of the artist. Usually they call less substantive seeming songs as filler which is more understandable. But I've seen people call things like Revolution 9 filler which is clearly ridiculous even if you think it sucks.
Some prime examples of actual filler are things like Paranoid by Black Sabbath and random mid contemporary covers of hit songs padded out motown albums with. Note that the actual quality of the song is what distinguishes between the two examples and not whether it was "filler". Paranoid was shat out in a few minutes because they needed 3 more minutes on the album but it became an all time iconic classic song
Not a fan of people criticizing art based on things they are guessing about the artists intentions in general. Judge based on the actual art not if they thought it was trash or spent 10minutes on it or years. Just call the songs bad or mid or say you don't like it instead of saying filler
This… hm.
I need to go on a walk. Much to think about here.
I actually liked mov's opinions on Palestine. It's why we both initially followed each other at one point. I'm willing to lift the embargo on big bro and put the silliness in the past if he is though

yeah, who's talking about it though
no discussion, no one talking about the "hits"
one million copies is just travis stans buying the album 5 or 6 times like nicki stans, it's not a real metric when it's so obviously corrupt and broken
