What differentiates Midnights to me is it just reeks of playing it safe and trying nothing new. Atleast with the performative gay activism on Lover for half a verse, it was smth diff. Also ME! f***ing blows and I enjoyed Lover more in 2019 than i did Midnights in this era. It feels so derivative.
