Beastie Boys were cool because even though they were rock based, they jumped into Hip-Hop unashamed and ready to embrace it without talking down to it or making it feel like a lesser genre. That’s why people f***ed with them. A lot of white rappers have this element where you can feel their insecurity through their music.
