Like if all 4 players total bid is 10, going for the set unless you absolutely have to is not a good idea since there are 3 bags. 11 is hard to set but can be done. 12 and 13 are usually easy sets and if you miss just 1 or 0 bags

Let’s say I bid 3, you bid 3, my partner bids 2, and saveme bids 2. That’s 3+3+2+2 = 10. Meaning if we all meet our bids then there are still 3 bags to take. So it I try to set you, I’ll usually end up with the 3 bags. Best move in that situation is to throw away bags as best as you can the entire game.

On the other hand if the total bid adds up to 12 (say we all bid 3), then always go for the set because worst case scenario you can end up with 1 bag if you miss the set
