i get claiming that a certain amount of people (especially engineers for an obviously example) can tell difference but are you claiming theres a difference to everyone? im always open to be proven wrong especially if it could mean i enjoy music more but all the research i end up doing leads to the vast majority of people not being able to tell the difference with blind testing. and seems like a lot of general audiophile type placebo to me and splitting hairs, reading graphs etc.
ive always tested to see if i can tell the difference every time i upgrade my audio equipment i still cant tell the difference
Most people probably cant, but I feel like if you’re a certain type of listener you can pick up on it
im a mixing engineer so I guess it just comes naturally to me to hear the extra sparkle since I use a Dac and amp and sit around all day EQing s*** lol
but 320kbps usually has a pretty hard cutoff around i wanna say 15-16k? and most healthy humans can hear up to around 20khz
so it’s definitely noticeable I think. But it’s more of a feel thing than anything, I just notice oh yeah that sounds better
Some people do seem to think Hifi means the sounds are wider or you hear instruments you never heard before, but that’s not totally the case. Weed will do that for you, not lossless
But at the end of the day whatever makes people happy I say let em rock, placebo or not
