Beethoven wrote super angsty/emotional and dramatic music in a time period where the focus was on pleasantness and tranquility per say, art wasn't meant to portray how the composer was feeling or the world around him. it was strictly for parties/banquets, for teaching materials OR the church/masses. Pair this type of attitude with someone who was the first true "free lance" musician where he was basically paid by his rich patrons to do whatever it gave him great flexibility. People like mozart often lost their supporters and income if they strayed off the norm. In terms of actual innovations he basically perfected and defined the "piano sonata" which is music strictly for piano, he wrote the first ever symphony that combined a human choir with a live ensemble in the 9th (ode to joy), he stretched the length of compositions too. A lot of works apart from masses or concertos would often be under 30 mins but most of beethoven's works are 35+ minutes, all of his symphonies clock in at 40 mins minimum. everyone that came after him stole aspects of what he did in their music and even the way they carried themselves as artists, he broke the mold for composers and musicians to create as their own being and express exactly how they felt with minimal care for rules. That then broke in the romantic era. A bit like 808s with emo rap and rnb in the 2010s.
You’re so real
i see
g flat major and f sharp major are the same key but are notated differently depending on the instruments and context so it's just a way to formalize a piece more or less
