Id recommend a different kind of jazz to some people if they already have some preconceived notion of it as boring soothing dusty background music. Which i think a lot of people do and thats why they arent open minded to jazz

Schism between traditionalists and people pushing the genre outside of jazz entirely resulted in either stagnant jazz or non-jazz. Plus the increasing categorization if it as art music/a separate class from popular music
