Thing is everything turns to dust eventually. Give it 4-5 years and Monster by Future gonna be “dust”
I feel like the real argument lies in if something has aged well or not. Like a lot of the rap from 2007-2011 did NOT age well at all save for exceptions like Wayne and Ye.
the aging well convo is on the same level for me as what kodak is saying about dust vs transcending dust
just boils down to "it sounds old therefore bad" plus a dose of nostalgia and personal biases
thats fine you can just listen to what you want then
or try harder to expand taste
Im not gonna force myself to like something that i dont like. Old music just aint hitting like that. Im always open to throwing more albums into my list of albums ive listened to before
@KodakSpice @Extraterrestrial @frenchpress @ryder click play rn
slaps
nah.. just long form videos of people going through each separate case and trying to see what the similarities are..
i think it's pretty obvious that this is the work of a serial killer though.. targeting these poor women man, i hate that this is something that really just be happening
like it's mfs out there who really wake up just to kill people that's wild as hell to me
Yeah I guess once you get away with it once, if you’re a psychopath, it’s hard to stop
Explaining the difference between mixing and mastering is preferring old music apparently
Nothing in the post that PTT replied to was about being stuck in the past
It was about explaining the difference between mixing and mastering LMAO
oh ok. i thought it was a thinly veiled shot at me disliking dust
Im not gonna force myself to like something that i dont like. Old music just aint hitting like that. Im always open to throwing more albums into my list of albums ive listened to before
you gotta make memories with the music man..
People have a f***ed up mentality when it comes to time. They think of it like food, not like wine. Something being decades old to them is like a month old sandwich.

The aging well convo is strange cuz nobody can agree on it
To me aging well is if it still slaps in rotation today w all the moderns
oh ok. i thought it was a thinly veiled shot at me disliking dust
No I would just directly reply to you like when I called you really dumb
Why would a post not @ you have anything to do with you

i used to be that way too when i was young and dumb and thought i knew everything lol
it eventually goes away

You’re too used to the loudness war to have an objective opinion
you gotta make memories with the music man..
Ur speaking to the choir bro im well aware of this

thats fine and you should listen in whatever way makes you enjoy the most and just be careful not to close your mind to the point where you already have half your opinion made up before pressing play
has your taste ever changed tho? do you just let your first impression reign supreme over everything
No I would just directly reply to you like when I called you really dumb

Cuz u and other posters add replies without quoting frequently
Cuz u and other posters add replies without quoting frequently
No I really dont
I was also clearly talking to somebody else
Ur speaking to the choir bro im well aware of this
listen to 10 classic albums a week, like even if they don't hit on the first listen.. spend time with it, digest it.. feel it
that's the only way you gon evolve as a music listener, and if you love music like you claim this will be fun
No point in trying to convince Kodak to like something from the 80s if he ain’t vibing with it.
There’s plenty of people in this thread who like older music to cover that base.
The aging well convo is strange cuz nobody can agree on it

“Not aging well” usually means what the artist intended to sound good at that time didn’t translate to the future. Not about being overplayed or anything like that.
What are some topics they sing about
Being abducted
Seeing x-rays of people who have just farted
Bob Dylan on a motor scooter
Melted crayons
thats fine and you should listen in whatever way makes you enjoy the most and just be careful not to close your mind to the point where you already have half your opinion made up before pressing play

There are tons of albums/songs/artists that i didnt like initially that grew on me. Most albums and songs i usually dont form a lengthy opinion on til a few listens later unless its perfect or trash

yup no one can agree cuz no one can agree on good or bad either
music doesnt age, our ears age!
(only part thats actually valid might be lyrics because language actually does change over time)
