well, f*** me running brother this was fantastic. what an outstanding improvement from 3 imaginary boys, it’s crazy what a little creative control can do. as previously stated, i can tell there was a lot of thought that went behind these songs & it’s apparent when it comes to the lyrics. they’re simple yet poignant. a little abstract & esoteric, very poetic but still wonderful. & the music is unbelievable. robert’s voice is great & i can’t imagine how it gets better than this but i’m excited 2 continue along this journey. i’m a fan already just off of this album
top 3 fav tracks (this is gonna be hard cuz every song is good)
secrets
3 - like holy f*** what an amazing experience this was, then drums are out of this world
a forest
least fav song (not including a reflection or the final sound 4 obvious reasons)
n/a
overall score - 8/10

Bruises
I stand and hear my voice cry out
A wordless scream at ancient power
It breaks against stone
I softly leave you crying
I cannot hold what you devour
The sacrifice of penance in the holy hour
oh we doing this huh
In 1989, Smith expressed in a fanzine that with the lyrics of “Primary”, he was “toying (?) with the idea that it may be better to die very young, innocent and dreaming…or even to murder as a gift…”
