if I were to make the argument for timbo > neptunes/pharrell it would be his emphasis on interesting textures. That’s something the neptunes largely ignored.

a lot of the neptunes beats do kinda sound.. hmm, skeletal is the word i wanna use and timbo's production sounds.. full and grand most of the time, obviously there are exceptions

They're known for using Korg / stock sounds a lot don't get me wrong, they're beats are very cool and different but Timbaland's sound selection really makes a world of difference
