I really loved some of the instrumentation throughout Mr. Morale. For an artists ear you can definitely hear the deliberate direction he took with the piano and strings and i love little details like that.

Even something like Crown which is as barebones as you can get the producer/arranger embellishes the melody and adds chords to thicken the sound

Its minimalist but not lacking. Which i think is a really hard line to tiptoe and alot of artists cant do it. Theres artist who attempt to make minimal sounding music but it sounds like its missing something.

There's a fine line between minimalism and demo it's a strange thing because you think you'd be able to follow a set formula but it doesn't work like that

Hot take: Foreign Exchange’s debut is a classic. Not once have I seen any love for it here.
