save me’s review of side 4 of the white album

side 4 is legitimately perfect with the exception of revolution 9, the streak of obnoxiousness is back on, thanks a lot john & yoko u have outdone urselves. that aside, i really enjoyed side 4. definitely the most consistent side of the 4, at least that’s how i feel as of right now. let’s see how we feel at the conclusion of this review.

top 3 fav songs

savoy truffle - absolutely amazing song. what a fun tune & pretty funny song premise. the music of this song is what puts it as my favorite, they was getting turnt in the studio. 9/10

cry baby cry - u know why i love this song, paul just knows how 2 do these type of songs. the melody is addicting, the instrumentation is top notch s***. dem vocals 8/10

revolution 1 - groovy song with a great message. on my 2nd listen i already found myself singing along, i can see this becoming 1 of my favorite beatles songs the more i keep listening. infectious stuff. 8/10

revolution 9 - if u can even consider this a f***ing song, i hate when they do this bullshit. please keep yoko away from me, i don’t like her contributions or ideas. i’m sure she’s a sweet lady but dude, just no. if only project pat would have been born by then & john would have heard “don’t save her” perhaps things would have been different. i know all of the blame doesn’t fall on her but paul should have really put his foot down & demanded this be cut. sure i can get behind the message of this “song” but the execution was piss poor. do better or don’t do it at all.

save me’s review of the entirety of the white album

now 4 an overall review of the white album, let me try 2 get my thoughts 2gether here, it’s been a long journey but i felt the best way 2 listen 2 this album was in 4 parts, i’ll probably be 4getting some very pivotal points but will try anyway…

i’m happy i can identify who’s singing now, at the beginning of this journey i was worried i wouldn’t be able 2. it’s so crazy how my opinion of the beatles has changed from just a little under 2 weeks, the hype is real. i believe now. but as far as this album goes, this was a lot. 30 songs clocking in at an hour & a half. lots of ebbs & flows. there are so many amazing songs, so many songs that are great, songs that are just alright & songs that i can live without. if they had cut this down 2 maybe 12-14 songs man.. this would be a 10/10 album. let me attempt 2 compile a list of my favorite songs as i’m going through the track list & listening 2 a minute of each song…

revolution 9 - absolutely the f*** not, don’t do that again, sometimes less is more & this is the epitome of why people use that phrase. i bet the art hoes love this 1.

piggies - genuinely can’t believe i like this song now but.. i do, i love how erratic & unhinged it sounds, it just works i can’t explain it

martha, my dear - i can’t quite remember what i said on my initial listen but wow.. what a tune, what a mighty fine tune indeed, it deserves a mention somewhere in this review so i made a category just 4 it
