Honestly this used to be my dream

So way back in like 2014 when kpop nights were once every like 8 months, the very first one I went to, there was a dj and he was vdjing. It was cool, he was just transitioning and half the ppl were just dancing to the songs like it was music. It was fun af. Since like 2007, I always wanted to be a dj in general, and I was like dam I can select way better tracks than this dude and this is something there's not a lot of.

As the kpop nights became more popular, they shifted to just being random play dance s***s. It was pretty annoying cause now you couldn't even vibe to the music like it was music. They cleared the space only for ppl to run in for the choreo.

Around that same time I came across this soundcloud dude who would put awesome 40 min mixes of kpop songs together. Every single track was an edit, mash, or remix. I dreamed that this could be the way to still hear your favorite s*** loud af in the club and have ppl learn to appreciate it as music as opposed as a conduit for attention.

No one was doing s*** like that back then and now I realize it would have never taken off.

Anyway I can't find that dude anymore w the mixes. I think he deleted his s*** which is sad because they truly were incredible

I really can't say cause I avoid 88rising like a plague so I really don't know

Anyway, it really does remind me of RV. I think it's just the way they have two members hold their notes over a walkdown on the chord progression. I'm a sucker for that.

It's crazy that RV still exists and they did a tour and they're just... there. While they had a long period I didn't f*** w them, they still had some of the absolute highs of highs of kpop, and the talent is still there. I went through my old ig archive and saw all my stories of me losing my s*** for their releases.

Wow you have been in the scene for a long time then. My first Kpop Night was in 2018 and It was amazing. Actually my first time i went to a club and enjoyed it.

Well there is always time to learn a new skill and Djing is a lot of fun.

Wanting to be a Dj was a dream of mine ever since David Guetta and the whole edm era at that time but I just shifted to do beat making.

Now 10 years later i bought a Dj deck and actually learn to do a Kpop Night one day.
In Europe they are very popular rn and the only club experience i am looking for to.
Last time i went, it was a old school night and they really played old KPop stuff from the early 2000s. The DJ was phenominal and really boosted me to do it too.
