damn, the inherent need that people have for singles to be an assualt on their ears like an action movie trailer

fr, it feels like a b-side and not a good one, just very underwhelming overall.

the actual b-sides sound great however.... wish they weren't releasing Friday.

I think MV looks very beautiful, every girl looks fantastic. Song itself, in my opinion, doesn't have as many hooks as ICSM, but overall sounds refreshing, light and goes along with the MV look and concept.

i mean it, but light heartedly. its understandable why ppl feel that way since we're conditioned at this point to expect that. i feel if you step back and think about it, its a weird complaint to say "well this feels like a b-side track".

for me i just want something good. i know sometimes there will be what feels like lost opportunities with songs released as b-sides as they wont get a choreo or video treatment, but if an artist/group and their release is any good, then they should have tracks that are good enough that make you want a video/choreo as well. its an expectation to feel that way at this point tbh.

then there are those that feel its "not representative", or will give the "wrong impression" to new fans, which truthfully makes it seem like people pushing a religion. i know the need for new fans, but if someone cares so much about pushing a group, they should plenty from a back catalog to convert someone. again, its just a weird standard/box to keep an artist/group in.

as much as ppl might excessively value something simply because it subverted their expectations, its as hollow for those to devalue it for the same reason.

in the end i think its a good video, good choreo and the song in terms of production and arrangement is amazing. the percussion on the chorus, the strings, the way the song builds in terms of filling in space as it goes along, its fantastic. and whats great is that when the song ends, what stays with you is primarily the guitar and vocal melody. i think the only issue i have is the build at the end of the rap. I don't feel it meshes well together and feels a touch out of place, but outside that, its great. its a deceptively "simple" and "chill" track.
