It took me a while to get into K-pop, so I feel like our tastes would be similar. I noticed it was K-pop with a western sound that really got me into this genre. I lived in and grew up here in the States, so listeners like me naturally gravitate to groups like BP. BigBang was the first.

This one's a classic from Red Velvet that I think you'd like. Song was produced by an American hip-hop/R&B team of producers called The Stereotypes. Genius even has a video about that. Check the second video.

I checked out Chung Ha and she’s f***ing dope. A nice change of pace from BP since their sound is so much more aggressive. This is a lot more laid back. Chung Ha feels like the pregame and BP is the turn up.

Do they get solo artists the same way they put groups together and s***

There are different ways a label gets solo artists:
1. Often after the groups disband or their contracts are up, the members become solo artists. They sometimes sign with other labels. Examples: Chungha, Sunmi, Somi
2. Individual gets picked up as a trainee and tries to make it into a group. The C.E.O. acknowledges him/her as having great potential, but doesn't think he/she is a good fit for the group and makes him/her a solo artist instead.
3. The solo artist gets signed the same way western artists generally do.
