if bts were perhaps only sustaining their popularity, i would say it's kinda not worthwhile to make the exception

i mean, they had everything lined up. given every reference mots had that served to bookend their ot7 career, it was obvious the plan was one last huge world tour and then that's it

everything made sense.

but thankfully (?) this year got screwed up, and they've continued to grow in popularity. it's similar to the undecided voters in the recent US election- HOW are you undecided in 2020? Where are these new bts fans coming from, and where tf have u been for at least the last two years??

this is not to disparage any new fans, but given kpop's saturation in today's pop culture, you would figure ppl would have made their minds up on whether they f*** w kpop/bts a long time ago.

anyway, back to the topic at hand

they've grown in popularity STILL. they had 4 olympic stadium shows lined up, and now that seems like it wouldnt be enough..

if things were normal, their next tour would do f***ing massive numbers. now imagine how much MORE people will be starving to see them live given the pandemic. i'm not trying to justify that bts should be the culture mascot for korea, but rather it's simply fact that they are. an 'exception' or 'delay' in this sense could only massively help korea overall if we're being honest.

all members have spoken about how they look forward to their service, but the pandemic has provided the perfect excuse for an extension that i THINK would sit well with general public. knowing how backwards i am with the general public tho, it's entirely possible they wont f*** w it at all.
