Calculate your TDEE. This is your maintenance calories.
To lose weight eat 200 - 500cals less than this. I would start with 200cals less then slowly increase to 500 if needed.
Don't start eating like 1000cals less. You'll go into starvation mode and will look and feel like s***.
Eat whole foods. Don't over-complicate it, it's not rocket science.
Limit your sugar intake. Drink water. For protein, it's good practice to try and hit 1g/lb of body weight. ( If you weigh 200lbs, try getting 200g Protein ). Don't be scared of carbs or fat.
Calories in, Calories out.
As far as working out goes, lift heavy, train hard, lift often. There's plenty of tried-and-true workout plans on google. Find one you like.

then i stalled so i switched
