i basically do a heavy squat day and a heavy deadlift day every week plus add some accessory stuff
for deadlift day i usually just do doubles or triples. ramp up the weight over a few sets til i get to my final weight and do 4-5x2 or 4-5x3 at that weight. then throw in accessory stuff after
problem is i want to get down to 198 and i'll get down to 200-210, lose a little strength and eventually take a diet break and next thing i know i'm back up to 230. I'd like to beef up the routine when i can stay below 200 but with the constant cut/break/cut dieting cycle i'm basically always trying to maintain my muscle/strength while i cut. it sucks

My routine is similar my first 3 sets are usually 3-5 reps working up to a heavy single for the 4th and 5th set sometimes I mix it up and do deficits after that is accessory work I deadlift twice a week I’m around 187-190 pounds not trying to cut either for the same reasons of losing strength

so i do heavy squats/ deadlifts 5 sets of 4 maybe so reps depend on how i am feeling i do cardio but i never jump weight to lose i always maintain my weight imo do some Stairmaster incline a bit both at 15 mins on a good paste how is your eating though? are you eating junk food ? drinking pop or beer ?

how tall are you for you to be 187-190 i am about 175 can deadlift 4 plates imo i would not deadlift twice a week just my opinion how much weight you doing now? if i were you do5 5x4 20 reps max
not going to the gym is killing me man taking time off because your under the weather/ injured is the worse plus its worse for me as a diabetic type 1 i got to give so much more insulin because i am not as active plus my blood sugars are way higher when i am at the gym its more stabilized and dont need as much insulin

If I can get down to 198 I might enter a powerlifting meet and go full throttle
I used to run Sheiko programs where I’d do either bench/deadlift or bench/squat 4 days a week, but switched to a modified bench sheiko program for a few years so my bench kinda outpaces where my squat and deadlifts should be
Like with a slingshot I’ve put up 455 on bench
So from where my bench is I should be doing more leg wise on squats and deadlifts but part of me is just like man do I really want to be putting 600 lbs on my back

I usually eat fairly clean, but what gets me is stress at work or when I fall into a depressive episode
Whenever I have a long ass stress filled day of work sometimes I just gotta get me a double cheeseburger on my way home. I need to stop lol but sometimes it just hits the spot.

ya i hear stress kills you as a diabetic when your stressed it raises your blood sugar and you need a lot more insulin plus you become more insulin sensitive where the insulin wont work as normal if i were you i would stay away from all fast foods and take your anger out at the gym put your heads phones on and dial in

Managed to injure my shoulder and hurt my back in the same day. I can’t even go for a walk right now 😭

i was doing deadlifts two weeks back and felt some s*** moving kinda funny as it sometimes happens when i do them and its been mildly buzzing and then sore when i was in a carseat yesterday
did my workout during the week fine including deadlifts and more back s*** though
started running again for cardio oh my god I forgot how wonderful this s*** is. runners high is so good

you're fine man it's so easy to obsess over that trust me but anytime that dull buzz s*** has happened to me I just go lighter on back/legs next few workouts and make sure I dead hang and stretch. it's more worrying if it's a pinch and doesn't go away or change tbh

The body remembers where it was. It comes back quickly
Back in the day when you used to see those bullshit supplements that had 30 day before and after pics were always technically real pictures. But it was just guys that were already jacked that lost muscle mass after a surgery or injury and then quickly packed their muscle back on. Just get back in there and make sure you eat enough

You wouldn’t have been able to do your lifts this week if you misaligned your spine
Get to the doc like you said to be sure and take it easy
Might be good to take a video of yourself next time you do DLs and inspect your form
