Trump would've lost interest. Bernie would've been couped. Hillary would've done a surge. Biden's entire career was leading up to this moment. It didn't redeem his life, but it's as close as he can come to honoring his son's death.

In this moment, with a million caveats and endless work to be done still, I am proud of the President. It's an office I despise atop a country that I fear, but this is proof it can be used for good. May it be used for only good until it is abolished. DONDA out now

I do not think biden is holistically a great president, but I have to give credit where it's due, him following through with pulling out and sticking with it in light of the entirety of washington - including his own party and the pentagon under him - and virtually all of the media "bipartisanly" giving him s*** for it then during the press conference saying it's not america's job to deliver democracy to countries that don't want it is beyond anything I'd really thought I'd see in my lifetime. When even Trump who legitimately ran on saying stuff like this and placed no value in the political process failed to materialize any of this once in office, I really thought the military complex would reign in anyone regardless of their platform and that was unchanging. It's only impressive for the moment though. I think what really remains is how he handles the rest of the presidency and how he continues with this topic. If he doesn't reign in the pentagon bombing literal children in Kabul then I think a lot of this is meaningless.

It's cute that you think Biden did this out of the goodness of his heart. It was part of the process all along.
The war has just started. A lot more innocent middle easterners are going to die. They didn't arm the radicals for no reason. Pentagon contractors gonna bank in the coming decade.

What are you giving him credit for exactly then. Arming the radicals?

Fair enough US presidents got a history of getting noble peace prizes for this s***.

I give him credit for pulling out of Afghanistan, even if it was not for the "right" reasons. Is this the end of the US being imperialist and causing grief in the middle east/south asia for private interest? No, I'm not an idiot, and also like 40+ years of meddling and disaster obviously isn't going to be undone by a president even if they had the right intentions. I don't think this is going to cause "peace" in the Middle East/South Asia and I don't think this fixes the damage the US has actually done to Afghanistan. That also doesn't mean I don't think leaving Afghanistan isn't good regardless.

The part where you say "in a country that doesnt want democracy" really hurts.
Shows you have no appreciation for afghan history. People always celebrated freedom and wanted to express themselves thats why the country has a rich history in the arts.
The imperialists have done this to afghanistan. The people arent stupid bro the stupid sheeple people are killing the smart ones.

First off, Freedom and Democracy have nothing to do with each other, on virtually any level, if you think this you're beyond delusional. Second off, yeah, no s*** that Afghanistan is a mess because of Imperialists. That was nothing to do with anything I said. When was Afghanistan both united as a singular entity and a democratic republic before imperialists? It certainly wasn't in the Hellenic or Buddhist eras (it also was not even "Afghanistan" at the time so don't try it), it was not under Arab rule, it was not under post-arab rule, it was not under the mongols. Post-Mongols it was essentially dynastic rule. During the Anglo wars was it a democracy? Was it a democracy because they were influenced by British India? Even with Zahir's reforms it was not a democracy. Was the PDPA a preferable democracy? Just because dynasty rulers introduced modernizations and rulers like Zahir led domestic reforms does not mean the country was a democracy.

You are right. Democracy is not the same as freedom. I agree 100% .
    Mullahs take freedom away.
Can there be democracy without freedom?

There never been democracy in that region. But afghans had good and bad eras under different dynasties.. During some eras there was more freedom and this is prevalent in the arts and history that remains, Ghaznavid era wasnt that bad and afghans were in charge. Probably just a luck thing that the king was a bit more open minded (less attached to centuries old rulings) or whatever. Anyway no democracy what so ever. But there wasnt much democracy going around before 1800...s. Afghanistan history as a country is short. We Should focus on what happened after the modern world and why we never got democracy.

After the modern world then what happened. In the early 1900s. Before then there was no electricity no mass education no roads as we know today. Peoples point of reference was a mullah whose father was a mullah and the stories they told... What happened then? The westerners particularly the british had the advantage..they had electrcity and the blue flame ... they invented the future

3 examples of the early 1900 rulers in middle east

    Ata Turk 1920
    Reza Shah
    ZAHIR shah

Ata Turk was more successful in educating the people than Reza Shah, Reza Shah did a better job than Zahir Shah. And now we can see the results.

The imperialists f***ed with the process of natural progress in middle east because we had oil they couldnt let us develop. Their secret agencies studied us to the bone, figured out our differences and weaknesses, armed the fanatics and made war .

Turkey got lucky cause they had s*** all oil and were closer to europe.

    “Defeat of a superpower”

    These idiots say anything.

Taliban got kicked out when America arrived and ran with their tails tucked between their legs. And we’re only permitted to come back by America leaving and s***ty deals don’t by American presidents.

  • Aug 31, 2021

Also, I’m a little confused now. How long were the withdrawal orders in place. I’m seeing the Americans in Afghanistan knew for months the deadline and waited last minute.

I need some clarification on this, because I’m under the impression that whatever the case Biden should not have given an option for a last minute withdrawal and made the American citizen deadline months earlier and started withdrawing everyone else from that time on. This again goes back to Biden completely miscalculating how long the Afghan army would be able to hold off.

Again saying just anything. Most of the stuff left behind us old and has been stripped of anything than can make it usable. And even if not they have no idea how to maintain, or use any of it.

So ur basically saying: "The US didn't lose in Afghanistan. They were just worn down and withdrew when it became politically and economically unfeasible to be there anymore."

Yeah? This is how the vast majority of wars have been settled in history.

If believing the guns don't work and the Taliban is too dumb to fly the choppers help you sleep at night then it is cool I guess.

dont worry though there are many traitors around and they are going to teach them how to operate and maintain if they havent already.

so the drone basically blew up a car bomb (because the car had lots of explosive material in it) with a drone strike and it ended up having collateral damage done in the neighborhood and it basically blew up the cars around it and a family house

    what a disgrace
