Young DJust curious, does anyone legit think that there’s a way that the US could have fully withdrew in a significantly “better” way?
Cause to me, what I hear from all these Congress people and cia people is “Fuck this, we want our military contracts to stay in place forever”…in other words they just sound like they’re mad we’re leaving period, they don’t actually feel like a withdrawal from Afghanistan could have been executed better given the current situation.
Am I wrong?

Imo if they didn't leave now s*** would just keep getting extended year on year
That is until the next election where the candidates would promise this term they really will get the troops out of Afghanistan
The whole thing is screwed when people are saying they should have done it so it was at least a few months before the Taliban took over. Maybe this simplistic but if it's such an inevitability then if you're an Afghan why would you fight? Apparently the only way America's exit plan would have been a good 1 under these circumstances is a civil war which Taliban eventually win in a matter of months. Great success
