Whatever word you guys want to use to pretend you guys arent in the same wing of philosophy to make urself feel better is fine. I'm gonna still call you what I did.
The same self-serving interest they use to justify their savior complex: to make themselves feel better and give themselves a duty or obligation only they can achieve.

If the US cared about the afghani people and not “American interests” they’d take in refugees.

If they cared about the Afghani people they wouldn't have been drone striking civilians for years

Yea I agree with you
We (the US) had no business meddling in Afghanistan to begin with

The refugees will be in camps just like the s*** in Europe lmao refugees aren't supported or protected. Niggas kid themselves thinking any western nation actually gives a s*** about refugees.

Pre 1980 Cuban refugees were welcomed in the US as political refugees
The US only gives a s*** when the optics of taking in refugees favors their MO
this is such a greasy american take - that reeks of white saviorism - "next time its gonna be different because were saving these brown people from themselves! who cares if this government is viewed as legitimate by the population, muh human rights! "
queue montage of devastation of iraq, vietnam, korea, iran, syria, venezuela, peru, indonesia, chile, haiti, ghana, congo, grenada, yugoslavia, libya, bolivia and most recently, afghanistan
like, whats with the amnesia? US intervention is havoc to these countries. just one example, they completely flattened the DPRK during the korean war, like 90% of their buildings were completely destroyed. idk if you know, but the taliban that the U.S. was f***ing fighting was financed and created by the US meddling there 40 years ago ..furthermore, the u.s. doesn't invade because of human rights - this is such a liberalized, construed view of the world. it invades for resources and geopolitical control.
Pretty sure the people hanging off of the American planes don't view the Taliban as legitimate.
Half of those countries you are referring to don't even make sense. Are you seriously saying that Korea is not better off for having the US intervene? That's insane and borderline evil to think.

Yeah one look at our border crisis should tell the world that if you're a migrant looking for help/safety, America is not the place to come to. Personally I think we should try and help them, but that'd require infrastructure and a political will that this country really does not have.
A trillion dollars by 2011 for afghanistan is 100 billion a year on average. Yeah, that's a lot of money.
Yea but we did all the heavy lifting already. It's money mostly already spent. To maintain what presence we had wouldn't have broken the bank.

I should have specified those refugees kinda being white-hispanics so it's fine. Then add cubans willing to assimilate and support U.S. culture.

Literally nobody wants this.
Literally nobody wants this.
Some people wanted it enough that they hung onto the wing of a plane taking off.

The U.S. bank has already been broken. We've been running historical deficits because of the warfare state for nearly 20 years now lmao. It's financially impossible for us to sustain this and its also morally impossible for us to sustain this. Im sorry but there's literally no justification for a 20 year war against a bunch of homeless soldiers in the mountains
Nazi Germany died in 5 years nigga and their military was insanely powerful. We lost. Cut our losses in Afghanistan and win. The nation has never been conquered and it's been like 3000 years
you're ignoring the 10,000+ afghans being killed every year in a perpetual war with no sign of stopping with 90% of drone strike casualties being civilians
They will be worse off under the Taliban. Not to mention the mentality behind the drone strikes is the same one behind the reasoning of wanting to pull out (save money and American lives).

Nobody in the US wants this*
I think majority of US citizens are tired of this whole thing and support leaving Afghanistan. It is what it is.
Is it fair to say the Taliban is the Afghan government? If so, if you were in charge what would your next move be?
The Russians meeting the Taliban tomorrow and leaving the embassy open, China leaving theirs open as well.

Fair enough, I disagree but I'm not gonna object. I will point out we were not trying to conquer in any sense.

They were in charge for a while before the US arrived and moved them out of power.
What can you do? We were there for 20 yrs and after all that all it took was us leaving and they came right back. So, the only option if you don't want them in charge is basically having a presence there indefinitely.
