Synopsis has a legit take, it's just not popular or accepted in an era when political consolidation is seen as the solution to a greater evil, a cancer on democracy.
Like that Obama hate thread being posted while Trump is in office actively encouraging voter suppression and violence against fellow Americans while dog whistling to white nationalist groups. Sure, no politician is beyond criticism, but the timing is so bad.
