imo, it shouldn’t for historical reasons. though prob archived already.
@BigDckBandit we gotta pull a "doja cat" if she don't keep to her promise my g.
Can someone tell me how it is possible for Trump to still be sworn in next year?
I'm hearing this. I'm not sure how it works
i meannnnn its extremely unlikely
1. unlikely: somehow trump successfully litigates/recounts his way into throwing out/whatevering enough ballots that he wins. however, "Biden has won too many votes for the Trump campaign to mount any legal challenge that would actually change the outcome" (time.com/5908881/president-trump-cant-sue-his-way-to-a-second-term-why-he-is-trying-anyway). that is to say that the supreme court is not going to care to hear a case that's od inconsequential, and most other state/local courts seem to have dismissed these suits (nytimes.com/2020/11/06/us/politics/trump-election-voter-fraud.html), since at most it'll be a difference of a few hundred ballots or something and can't change any race--election officials have said there's no evidence of widespread voter fraud (newsweek.com/no-evidence-voter-fraud-says-federal-election-commission-official-1545747). Similarly, most states are beyond the margin of a recount changing anything, as recounts really change like a few hundred votes max (nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/could-recount-flip-key-battleground-history-says-don-t-count-n1246596)
2. unlikely: enough faithless electors who are supposed to vote for biden vote trump or some third part instead. this is unlikely because democrats right now will literally do anything to get trump out for one, second because most states will just replace faithless electors until a good one comes along (nypost.com/2020/11/05/faithless-electors-could-keep-trump-in-the-white-house), and third because this is super rare overall and has never changed the election outcome before. Furthermore, congress actually has to approve of all the electoral votes, and since house is still projected to be blue, it will just reject any challenges made by senate if senate stays red (pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2020/10/22/election-night-marks-the-end-of-one-phase-of-campaign-2020-and-the-start-of-another)
3. unlikely: so right now a lot of hardcore trump stans are trying to write/call in to their state legislature's GOP leaders in states that voted for Biden to tell those leaders to send republican electors to vote trump, as they think whoever runs the state legislature chooses who the electors in the electoral college are. however, there is a lot more detail to this--"For the most part, each political party submits a list of electors who are pledged to vote for that party’s candidate to state elections officials, and after the election the state appoints the electors submitted by the party of whichever presidential candidate received the most votes." So if the democrats won pennsylvania, the democrats get to send their hand picked electors. However, if the election numbers in that state are truly debateable and no one knows what's going on, that GOP led state legislature might also send their republican electors' votes out which means that there's now two conflicting sets of votes for one state. now congress has to agree on which slate to pick, and if they can't agree, it would probably go to the supreme court to decide what happens next (reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-dueling-electors-explain/explainer-dueling-electors-pose-risk-of-u-s-vote-deadlock-idUSKBN2712M7). This has happened two times, so it's super unlikely, especially because the margin by which biden has won seems super solid in enough states that i don't think any result can really be up for debate. plus some of these states trump's pressed over have already pledged to only send electors for the person who won the popular vote in the state: pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2020/11/07/pa-electoral-college-popular-vote.
Did you take that pic? I love that store
