Nah it was just an application you downloaded on the computer. It was solely for sending messages. Before we had texting. Some people paid for AOL to access the internet but AIM was just the messenger service and became it's own thing.

yeah the big issue is that it takes wayyy more work to debunk a theory than create one. and people can fire off a hundred fake theories with out of context photos or videos until one sticks and then its so hard to get people to stop believing it
