I’m not the most qualified person to learn this from honestly but basically the hedge funds are slowly buying back shares to cover short interest. For GameStop that interest was over 130% of the float (more shorted than the total shares) and if you look at GameStop’s chart last week and AMC’s chart this week they’re awfully similar
