I have one I was adding money to every month for a long time but now I'm doing a 401k cause my current employer matches whatever I add every month

I could do both but the Roth IRA makes a lot less sense because I have access to a good 401k plan

I'm basically putting all my free money that I don't put towards crypto into the 401k because like I said I get matched so I get double the money

also because the 401k is pretax money I would be paying more in taxes to do it via the Roth IRA

the 401k has a 20k limit every year tho once I hit that limit I'd switch back to the Roth IRA

also the Roth IRA let's me put my money where ever I want, I can buy any bond, stock or etf

also you can take 10k out of a Roth IRA to buy a house with no penalty, for the 401k I have to wait till 59.5

if it wasn't for the 100% matching I'd do more in the Roth IRA

the 401k only has 20 different types of investments I can buy and I have to plan to buy those assets before my paycheck comes cause the money comes out of my paycheck

I have 30% Bonds in my 401k and 70% Stable funds, will be moving that into stock Index funds when I think we are closer to a bottom

the Roth IRA I had all in stocks till January then I sold, now 70% of is just sitting in the account and then I have some Bonds also now
