Make a Roth IRA account and fund it like $500 a month, 6k max until 50 years old

Cant touch it basically until 59.5 but no taxes on the gains.

Some exceptions and technically can withdraw contributions on a roth, but not the gains, but becomes an accounting hassle

If you want to be liquid make an individual account instead but depends what your goals are

Putting in money each month minimizes downside of buying at a top or near top. If prices drop heavily, you will till be buying each month

I would go with some total US and International ETFs and all it a day. Buy some indiv stocks with small amounts of money if you have conviction on your picks, but mind you most mutual fund managers do worse than the market over time, so why would the average person do better (talking about decades)?
