I’m poor again. How will I buy Christmas presents for my family now
Bought some more CELR, VET, LINK and ALGO during the dip
All of these pumping since i bought some more damn
i have just over 1 BTC and i’m on ssdi and medicare and can only take out 44k on the year on additional gains before it taxes that AND my ssdi that i got that prior year such a headache so like rn i want to keep holding but she wants me to get that chunk out on this year so i can start chipping away at it but i’m gonna look deeper into gifting options now to try and evade that

capital gains is considered ‘unearned income’ and ssdi is only affected by earned income so i’m all straight

Just take out a loan against your bitcoin, like rich people
Loans arent taxable income for most
Capital gains from selling is completely different and you will pay taxes

yes i know i will pay capital gains taxes if i sell, just didn't want it to make my SSDI get taxed which it would in a case where i had too much earned income

ok so do what i told you and take out a loan against your bitcoin
preferably on-chain or from a respected company so you don't get f***ed

What respected company exists with borrowing against BTC that hasn't gone under?

Pretty sure Crypto.com has something for normies like that but I can't vouch for it and they prob have fees. Same with Binance, or Coinbase maybe now too
Smaller lending platforms somehow Nexo survived last cycle when people called it sketchier than Celsius but I wouldn't trust them much either on something like this
After what happened with Gemini I learned my own lesson seeing some thread members have s*** locked up in limbo
You're right though I would prefer to do it all on-chain and verify all the liquidity, reserve requirements, and margin call info myself
For example start with AAVE on that front
Hell I think some people would rather just sell high right at 100k or whatever, pay the taxes, and use the money immediately- rather than having to worry about a loan.
I can't blame someone for that either, it's just a different mindset
How do I get a mortgage backed by my bitcoins
