without a screen it’s easy to get man in the middle attacked

if the firmware isn’t open source you’re trusting the company that makes it and auditors that they’re doing it securely

also some products don’t let you do a seed phrase backup which is something to consider for recovery

the form factor, like it being credit card shaped is less important, they all do the same thing in principle create a secure offline environment to store a 24 word seed phrase (private key encryption)
