Staking is a new concept to me lol so I've been sitting on the fence on staking for over several months already. I decided to stake a part of my portfolio with my ledger wallet, and a part through gemini Earn.

I'm in the same boat as you bro, I don't have anyone in my family who're at all knowledgeable about investing let a lone crypto. Regardless, it's passive earning and a good way to make your money work for you otherwise what is it doing? I don't think there's a lock up period via Ledger that you should be afraid of iirc, had my tiny bag of ATOM staked since I bought last year - was hype asf when I found out you could stake via Ledger
