it's automated if an exchange doesn't let you remove your eth and turns off the validation cause of something with a government it seems like you already have other problems (you won't be able to access any of your crypto), slashing for being offline is a very small amount overtime but yeah that's definitely a problem if someone just takes your crypto.. I mean it's the same problem with leaving your money on an exchange regardless tho 🤷
