i already filled for an extension on my taxes
i keep saving usd and i have been calculating it roughly but tokentax has no support for none ethereum stuff so im just missing all this profit on avax, fantom & solana
they said it's going to be ready by march hopefully, might use a different service if there is one that pops up
or maybe just calculate it in a spreadsheet

Damn, I've only been trading on gemini and thankfully they got reports that I can use for my taxes. I've been holding usd since Feb when I cashed out from Robinhood last year.

man this what I don't want to go through. So coinbase and others don't send tax forms like fidelity and the rest do? cause if not imma just have to take my chance and not report it

yeah using an exchange makes s*** easy but i wouldn't be up on as many things so at the end of the day i feel it's worth it

yeah it's just for Defi stuff you gotta figure it out or if you start trading offshore lol
but the returns are much better in Defi
so I keep moving forward trying new chains

I think all exchanges do give you tax forms. It's just those s***coins or launch coins that are the trouble spots.

Yeah starting next year I'm working on those flips, so I'll be able to track correctly for the new tax year
Crypto tax is whole new frontier hope I get it right the first time

I have some gains and some losses on defi, no clue how to report this crap lol
Say you want to cash out, how do you prove to the irs that the money you sent back to an exchange to go to usd and then to your bank isn't a gain and not a loss?
Hard to show cost basis

I use tokentax it ties everything to the transactions on chain so if you ever needed to prove everything you'd have the link to the explorer but yeah it's definitely kinda just every man for himself
also yeah you gotta account for inflows from exchanges it's all a hassle

I was just talking to my boy the other day about this. The tax situation is so f***ed. I don’t think it’ll get better either (considering how fast crypto moves)
IRS can go f*** themselves. Disrespectfully.
I’m still paying those taxes tho.
Sure you are
Me too
