Ethereum will catch up
it's already up more than Bitcoin since March
Bitcoin is definitely a safer bet but I think Ethereum could still out perform it

Eh it's gotten to high levels before too.
It's because there's alot of transactions going through on the ETH network right now which is resulting in the higher fees. That's also a good thing since it shows alot of people are using the coin for stuff than just holding onto it.

Ethereum has more transactions on it every 24 hours than the rest of the Blockchain and that only gets more extreme everyday. Bitcoin doesn't come close anymore.
This has been an issue since last summer and it was this bad at points during the summer it has to do with all the dApps and projects on Ethereum. The more transactions the worse it gets.
Layer 2 will fix most of the gas issues in the next 3 months though on the Defi projects that use it. Ethereum 2 will fix the rest in the next 24 months.

Iirc I think the gas fees are to pay the people who go thru the smart contracts? Like the energy consumption of running the computers or something?
Also I’m doing all of it thru coinbase
