Has there been any conspiracy that’s actually been proven?

I’m not talking about the earth is round type s*** back in the 1300s but like stuff that we really don’t have a bases for but turns out to be true

A conspiracy is just when people make secret plans to do something illegal and/or immoral. And they’re everywhere.

Anything from Watergate, to companies illegally polluting rivers, to police shooting cover ups, to someone cheating in a relationship are all by definition conspiracies

I know you already knew this^ and it isn’t really answering your question. But the idea is that conspiracies are incredibly common: at your work place, within schools, friend groups, families, etc.

My point is that many dismiss theories because they can’t fathom that those at the highest levels of power would do the things they are accused of, out of some self discipline or loyalty to their country.. or something like that.. That’s bullshit. Everyone has conspired in one way or another.

Plenty of conspiracies have been exposed in US history and are actually taught as part of the curriculum. I mean, the Boston Tea Party is a conspiracy. The Corrupt Bargain of 1824, the assassination of Lincoln, the Credit Moblier scandal, the Teapot Dome Scandal, Watergate, Iran-Contra, and so many more. They happen for sure.

“Prove” is a tricky word when talking “conspiracy theories”. Any of those^ conspiracies are only regarded as true since some of the perpetrators were caught and punished or admitted wrongdoing. Had they been able to get away with it and cover it up, then it’s likely we wouldn’t have any idea, and those who looked into it would be labeled conspiracy theorists

And I don’t even know what would qualify as something being “proven”. A confirmation by the government? A story by a huge publication or cable news? These institutions have plenty of their reasons for keeping some stuff under wraps. If we’re waiting for the gov to tell the truth abt JFK or 9/11, then we’re gonna be here a while
