Yeah it's kinda funny––I always thought I much preferred Unknowns to TIWN, but I relistened to both and actually feel the opposite.

Unknowns as second? Would love to see your full list

    For me (excluding pre-HWAM):

    • Hiding Places
    • Today I Wrote Nothing
    • Dour
    • History
    • Terror
    • Unknowns

The drop from Terror to Unknowns is pretty steep tbh

    Mine goes:

    HP
    KU
    TM
    TIWN
    DC
    HWAM

I wouldnt say there's a steep drop between any for me though. I do find History's production a bit too dated in places though, and just a little too overlong. And Terror has been a big big grower on me, overtaking TIWN.

Right? His (and Armand Hammer's) early beat selection was pretty questionable at times, which is kinda my biggest barrier with the record. And Race Music as well.

Yeah I think thats fair to say. I very rarely revisit Race Music or HWAM in full. Can feel too Def Jux-y to me.

Of Armand Hammer I've heard woods even say it wasnt until that one-two punch of Touch and Agree/Soft Places that he feels they found their rhythm and sound.

Cant see it happening. That relationship seems dead and buried.

Im pretty sure ELUCIDs verse on Leopards is a shot at him. ELUCID had used a beat of his on the S*** Dont Rhyme No More remaster, the track was promptly taken down, and later IDK used the beat instead.

I should’ve listened when they told me you wasn’t folk no more
Siccing his white lawyers on your boy
Season of the vic, cease and desist, real nigga, I think not
I’m rehearsing for a world where you don’t exist
If I’m being plainspoken, k-hole slump
Under my sub slow-motion, doja boy turn token
Just when you think niggas is on the level
Performative rebel rhetoric, but the beat's incredible
F*** it, riddle me this, lay it to rest, wait for the hex
I ain’t ask for you to talk to me nice
But going silent when s*** really ain’t right (nah)
    Veteran dishonorable, vaginal discharge comical
Stripe, strip, attitude don't reflect the action, tight b****
I get my s*** off when I want to
Without centering crack the psychosomatic disorder
Who among us is not among us
In the words of arierreF .P.A.R I’m seeing clearer

the beat was originally given to ELUCID, on the song Oblivion Reflex, which featured on his S*** Don't Rhyme No More reissue. Upon checking, I am now seeing that this song has been removed from Elucid's Bandcamp, Youtube, and streaming services. Upon hearing the lyrics, I feel like they could very easily be aimed at Peggy, regarding this situation. Screenshot of said lyrics has been attached - but the things that stand out are the possible Real Nega and Veteran references, as well as references to Peggy's rebellious aesthetic and 'incredible beats'.

From the lyrics, I am gathering, Elucid saw the IDK song, heard the beat, and asked Peggy why he recycled it. Peggy didn't hit him back - and then, maybe Peggy (or the labels involved) lawyered up and got the song taken down? Or maybe ELUCID just took it down cos he felt offended? Or maybe I am just reading waaaaaaaaay too much into this and gossiping like a lil f***ing moron who does not know what the f*** he is talking bout. idk. not trying to be one of those ppl who 'starts s***' or creates beef outta nothin u know. anyone know if there is anything to this? will also delete if it is cringe.

Yeah I experienced the same when I revisited History recently as well. I wish Headband was on the tracklist smh

Headband is wild. I grabbed the album off woods' bandcamp so I could have a version with it on it.

Yeah, but considering this will be first exposure of most people to them, alot of the question will be the same. We will get to read about woods father, mother and his childhood over again

Yeah I guess in any case the most important thing is that these guys will get more attention/support, which is so deserved.
