Such good verses from all three, and the song is almost 5 min long, love it. SadhuGolds dark, spacey production fits so well, I'm excited for this new Droog album...
woods definitely gonna have people upset about that 'sip tall glass' line but the line before is "life comes at you quick.... so sip!" It makes it a little less disgusting lol. I love how he can put a nasty image in your head by saying a few words strung together.
Really great stuff from woods, especially the beginning with the double entendre (a d*** dealer getting arrested, or maybe shot, outside his house with the Three Little Pigs story), and relating back to Haram with all the pig imagery, and even Hiding Places with the wolf...
Near the end of his verse, production gets louder and woods gets intense as he describes an uneasy roadblock scene where the outlook might not look too good. Crazy good stuff... here's woods' lyrics that i got:
Your Old Droog – Space Bar – Meteor Man ft Lil Ugly Mane & billy woods
woods verse
I see they eyes when the plot twist
Surprised to find they not the protagonist, it’s a trip
Lil’ guy built his house out of bricks
but the wolves caught him outside (bacon strips)
Life come at you quick... sip
A tall glass of female ejaculate
I’m different from the rest (… … ...? f*** that)
Just Say He The Best
Agostinho Neto when I choose my fighter
Zodiac Manifesto, non-cipher
I wear a mean dark pair of shades, Roddy Piper
Seen fire reach like crack lighter
Spinning meth pipe made the night brighter
One look around
not hard to see why you might light up
Better you than me
Dump, dizzy out on the faux mica
When we got back together
her therapist put the price up (oh my)
Marlo at the Co-Op
Talk guwop slow at the roadblock
Soldiers sweating, walkie-talkies squawk (squawk)
Guns cocked, natives gawk
The midday sun’s hot, US dollars in my socks
Stopped, watching the sun drop
Was hoping that Armand hammer would try something new, like live instrumentation or something for the new album. They always have something new to say about life, but the soincally always a bit too familiar; always a bit hiphopy

Are we talking about the same Armand Hammer?

The last track on their last album was Stonefruit

Not that I know of, I just thought after the woods collab with moor mother they might try something like the jazz poetry stuff she does.

Definitely seems it. If ever there was an opportunity to hear woods and KA on a track together.. (bring in Yasiin Bey while he's at it)
Preservation wouldn't necessarily be my first pick for a woods solo. Be interesting how that turns out.
Also woods really has hit genius levels when it comes to structuring albums/tracks and it needs to be acknowledged.
Hearing that he always felt Buddy Ryan was unfinished with just the first part and deciding it needed a beat switch and Skech185 to come in is a masterstroke. Feel so many would be more than content to have released that track in just its first part.
Interesting too that Kingston was touched up by Willie Green. I have felt like something in it popped differently to when it was first put out. I wasn't huge on the track when it dropped as a loosie but absolutely love it on this album.

Exactly this is why I think the new akai solo and defcee albums are gonna be great.

I honestly can’t imagine a common musical ground for woods and Ka, but I’m sure they would make something work brilliantly
Who would you prefer over Pres? I feel like that’s a match made in Heaven personally.
We talk a lot about woods lyrics, what are your favs from ELUCID?
I don't have the privilege to think everything ain't political
I pity the fool f***boys deserve to be liberated too
The law is a anagram of wealth
One man's revolution is another man's rhetoric and my semi slurred syntax is not a clear indicator of my intelligence, yours either
“Pig reform policy is an ice pack on a gun wound”
“Just cause I wander don’t mean that I’m lost
Just cause I wonder don’t mean that I’m stumped”
“Even inside you I’m distant”
“Trials rendered in my full expression”
“Endless loops induce reflection”
Exactly this is why I think the new akai solo and defcee albums are gonna be great.
Yup. Especially excited for Akai’s

Nah I'm being picky and its probably a dumb thought. The likes of Child Actor, Andrew Broder, Kenny Segal again were the ones that had come to mind as my dream picks.
But im sure Presevation will kill it. Just tend to think of his beats as leaning towards a relatively subdued, straightforward atmosphere, with notable exceptions though.
But yeah, I have absolutely no idea what Pres could cook up for a full album with woods. Yen Lo was years ago and very tailored to Ka. While EMWI was built with a specific palette of samples in mind.
Want to see woods continue the envelope pushing beat selection. No doubt he will.
Billy Woods on this chorus?

This official mix covers songs from the time when Mo first encountered Armand Hammer (separately and as a unit), all the way up to Haram. There are some selections here only completists may recognize, but regardless how familiar you are, we hope you enjoy the journey.
