its honestly not TLJ thats the problem, its just that the main star wars story should have ended with vader being redeemed and killing the emperor.

To this day the fact that the emperor just magically survives ruins all of star wars. But i also get that this is a totally different gripe and is jj abrams fault not RJs haha

Honestly I’ll just stick with Lucas’s 6 film arc, the Filoni headed cartoons, and the first season of Mandalorian. Everything else doesn’t work for me at all.

I can see the argument you are putting forward about the Skywalker saga being focused primarily on Vader and his redemption and to some degree i get that but SW most important character is also Luke Skywalker

THE PRIMARY PROTAGONIST from the start, i would argue he is just as important as Vader.

Finishing off the Skywalker Saga with Luke’s redemption and Kylo Ren (inspired by Vader) braking off the shackles from his master to become the supreme leader (as Vader never did until Luke saved him)

Is still very much a Skywalker story

i can get behind this, its a shame they just pulled some weird ass palpatine somehow survived bullshit that ruined everything RJ built

TLJ had some flaws but ultimately i've always respected that RJ tried to take the trilogy in a new direction, its a shame they botched the ending to the saga so hard because the sequels could have been really good

tapped in now. fight scene so fire absolutely amazing. wish it was just this for the whole 50 minutes. this reva story line couldn’t be any less compelling

this series pacing, and i’m usually not one to harp on pacing, has been so god awful

nah this fight scenes been absolutely goated OBI went bananas. maybe just maybe makes this whole show redeemable

just barely tbh. Kinda just wish they gave us a short film of Vader and Kenobi’s rematch

Luke on Episode IV looks like a boy that has never been through anything and doesn't know s*** about the force, lightsabers etc... And he doesn't remember ever meeting Ben at all

I think it's supposed to be just this, the ending ties up to the beginning of episode IV

would have preferred this story to have been in just a movie, maybe even trilogy. but it’s whatever. trilogy maybe overdoing it but i think they could tell a plenty compelling story on the big screen
