That Vader is also a master of the dark side because of the years of experience. The Vader in this show has a higher % of Anakin in him compared to that

”increase firepower”

The prequels had a really good payoff regardless of the bad parts. So many iconic scenes, concepts, and characters introduced in the prequels that we still talk about. The sequels lacked direction and creativity which led to the wack pay off we got for that. I don’t see people appreciating the sequels in 20 years like they do the prequels.

I think Kylo having Luke betray him as he did is a good starting point for where you should at least some semblance of sympathy, the very fact that Kylo is having a constant push and pull with the light should at least make you consider that he could have a chance at redemption akin to Vader.

Also this is more about communicating their emotions as expertly as they did, not necessarily about the character’s reasonings for being in that state of emotion.

That all may be true but episodes 1 & 2 are still bad movies so the prequels went 1/3

I wouldn’t count out sequel appreciation in the future. Nostalgia is a hell of a thing. In the 2000s there wouldn’t even be any argument to say prequels are bad now there’s a cult following who defend them

i change my mind, we dont need to see anymore vader from these guys. they make him look like s*** the more and more you see him on screen. keep him for special moments like in rogue one. the more they use him, the more likely we are to get something that doesnt make any sense

TLJ is a great pay off movie and basically the finale of SW for me personally.

I see what you’re saying but the sequels introduced no interesting or new concepts. People appreciate the prequels because they are so unique and different from the original trilogy. The prequels opened up the Star Wars world in a way we’ve never seen before. Then the sequels chose to close that world back up. The sequels brought nothing new or fresh into the Star Wars world, that’s why they’ll be forgotten. Does anybody remember the countless soulless reboots we’ve gotten over the years? No. Episode 6 is the perfect ending imo. 7-9 don’t even make sense within the story.

Lucas should’ve toned it down with the yelling & should’ve give Hayden a more subtle way to perform the endless tangents he went on in 2 & 3

What type of pay off does it give to the entirety of the saga? I’m talking about including episode 1-6. I think TLJ is a dope movie without that context but in that context, it’s wack imo

Dope episode liked the fight between Obi Wan & Vader plus the ending of the episode. Overall decent show with fire moments for sure but too much filler with other stuff. Wish it was done differently tho. It’s a shame but oh well just Disneyified Star Wars at this point idk what I expected lol.

I feel like TLJ would’ve been a more satifying payoff if they actually followed up on it & not rehashed a Palpatine clone plot. It closed the door on Luke Skywalker’s arc & basically gave them a blank slate with Kylo as an emperor & Rey the Nobody struggling with that bond between them.

The point of TLJ’s ending is literally that the Skywalker bloodline is essentially dead, mostly because of Anakin’s turn & the effect it had on his family. It was essentially the closer to the Skywalker saga.

Yeah I didn’t really like any of the sequel trilogy movies. I watched episode 7 in theaters and felt too similar to episode 4 which I wouldn’t mind too much if it was a reboot but it being a sequel it felt cheap

Then I didn’t like some of the decisions they made in episodes 8 & 9

The fact that episode 9 ends the way it does 🤮 jj a whole ass clown for that

Ends off Luke’s story overall, redeems him from his mistakes that he made with Kylo, trains Rey into being The Last Jedi to push forward into the future.

Kylo makes his decision to destroy everything and rebuild into his own future becoming Supreme Leader

Leia passes on her leadership role onto Poe for the future (giving her a good out since Carrie passed away)

Since SW seems to be this never ending cycle of war maybe it is best to leave off at a cliff hanger and just let the imagination ponder on how all of this could have gone in the future rather then having TROS exist

Nah they assasinated Luke's character. Luke igniting his lightsaber in front of a sleeping child cause of a vision? cmon. Luke was the new hope and he had all the force ghosts teaching him for decades yet he just gives up? They did this so they could recreate that empire vs rebels s*** to have nostalgia bait. Imagine finishing episode 6 then getting to TLJ and seeing this crap. Makes no sense. There's some cool stuff in TLJ but it's ruined because it doesn't fit the grander story that they are supposed to be telling. But instead it feels like im watching a reboot
